Play this form, and contrast it with the Natural Minor; also, with the Major.
There is still another form of Minor Scale known as the Melodic Minor Scale, In the Melodic Minor Scale the 6th and 7th Degrees are raised chromatically, ascending, but remain unaltered, descending.

Now for a most important exercise by the student. Write out in full each Major Scale, as indicated below, giving the proper Signature. Beneatli each Major Scale write out in full its Relative Minor ; first, the Harmonic Minor ; then, the Melodic Minor. Give the proper Signature for each Relative Minor, corresponding with its Relative Major. Make all Chromatic Alterations correctly. In the Melodic Minor use such t)'s, }|'s and b's as are necessary to indicate that the 6th and 7th Degrees are to remain unaltered descending.
